Synopsis of "Oh God Why Me?"
Oh God-Why Me? Is the riveting, hilarious, gospel musical that deals with the universal issues of parenthood, relationships and the death of a family Matriarch. Sharon Cantey is the single mother of three girls, who often finds herself overwhelmed by the chaos of raising her daughters alone. One night, at the urging of her girlfriend, Dee, Sharon decides to go out for dinner, leaving the girls in the care of the oldest sibling. The evening spirals out of control as we discover that Dee has ulterior motives, she wants Sharon’s womanizing boyfriend, Daryl for herself. The audience soon realizes that Dee has orchestrated the entire set up in order to have Sharon’s children taken into protective custody on the grounds that they are being abused and left at home without supervision.
A distraught Sharon turns to her parents for support. Alma and John Cantey are the faith-pillar of the Cantey family and comfort Sharon with words of wisdom and songs about the power of God. The faith of the Cantey family is put to the test when Alma becomes tragically ill and dies. With Alma no longer around to mediate, John and his son, Mario, are forced to examine their estranged relationship. Sharon is also forced to face the loss of her mother, children, best friend, and boyfriend in one fatal blow.
This play shows real people dealing with real life family drama. One generation must learn to relate to the next as the family deals with universal realities of life that often prompts us to ask “ OH God, Why Me?” It is only when the challenge has passed and we are stronger because of it that we begin to understand; even if we don’t understand why, we at least begin to heal and ultimately continue to grow. This is a stage play of healing and understanding against a backdrop of powerful gospel songs and situation comedy…it is a must see for the young and old alike.

“The Divorce”
Keeping the Family Together
The U.S. Bureau of the Census has projected that over 40 percent of marriages will end in Divorce. For many children, (toddlers to adolescents) this can be a devastating time in their lives. "The Divorce" is a play production highlighting some of the conflicts and common problems many couples face and suffer in marriage. This production will also show the internal conflict that children undergo over their parent’s separation and or divorce. Linda and Raymond Riley have been married for 15 years and have dealt with several marital issues throughout their marriage. Like most marriages challenged with differences, Linda and Raymond have found it hard to work through their differences and have now grown apart. With the lack of communication, not understanding how to meet each other’s emotional needs, which leads to lack of intimacy, they are now faced with one spouse’s selfishness and wanting a divorce. Can this marriage be reconciled?
This production will provide personal insight and growth on how to identify and rectify the issues before they truly become a problem to big to resolve. Not only are first time marriages under attack, research also shows that over 70% of second marriages end in divorce as well. This production is geared towards real life issues and circumstances. It contains moments of laughter and tears, but will ultimately educate us all (men, women and children) on how to handle one self should they ever have to face this situation.
Conclusion: The quicker the problems are identified the sooner a couple can start IMPROVING THEIR MARRIAGE! Is it too late for the Riley’s to work out their differences and rekindle their marriage to walk in the divine path of what GOD ordained it to be?

“Don't Be A Bully! Speak Up! Speak Out!” is a motivational and educational theatrical production that addresses the epidemic of “bullying” we are now facing in our schools and communities. Our production focuses on the importance of our youth “SPEAKING UP and SPEAKING OUT”. Many of our youth fear SPEAKING UP and reporting bullying because they are too afraid of the consequences of their actions. However, through this motivational production kids will be encouraged and motivated to “Speak Up and Speak Out! Additionally, we hope to educate the adults involved on their responses and hopefully provide a renewed sense of responsibility to these children. Through the Don't Be A Bully! Speak Up! Speak Out! Production we hope to save the lives of students, and promote positive learning experiences for all involved. We want children and teens to seek support from parents, resource officers, teachers, principals and friends to TAKE ACTION! This production encourages youth to Speak Up! And Speak Out! If they are being “BULLIED".
According to facts and statistics on bullying from safeyoung.org, researchers estimate that 30 percent of youth in a given year in the United States are the target of bullying, will bully others, or both. Children being bullied may feel scared, vulnerable and alone because the bully is much bigger or stronger and they are afraid to tell someone. It's also reported that most children and teens never speak up about their bullying situation (or incident) because they don't want to be known as a snitch at school.
In this production the characters of Alex and Alexa are both victims of being bullied at school. They are often teased and called names by the bullies and sometimes their personal belongings are taken from them. Jasmine and Nicole, classmates of both Alex and Alexa, witness the bullying on several occasions and encourages them both to tell someone. This production will address how bullying has an emotional and psychological impact on both the victim and the perpetrator. Young audiences will leave this production with tips on not only how to identify but also prevent bullying. "The Bully" teaches its audience to not be afraid and to Speak Up! and Speak Out! Most importantly this production teaches the victims and the bullies the importance of having respect for themselves and others!
